Is it this easy??????

october weekend 0001_resize

This adorable ornament was given to me at the retreat last Friday night!  I just love it!

I brought it home and "hung it by my chimney with care," but so far no elves have arrived.

I just had to send a "shout out" to my clown friends in case they were thinking of going into the "elf business" for the holidays!!!  (Laurie and Christine, I think you would make very cute elves!)

Seriously, though, this ornament will hang through the holidays as a constant reminder that it is okay to NOT be everything to everyone everyday!

Freedom can be found when we step back and simply say, "I'm not enough by myself."

What does this look like at my  house?

Laundry piling up from time to time.

Dishes being left undone when I go to bed because my husband says, "I'll get those in the morning before I go to work," and me learning to be thankful and let them go!

Floors needing vacuumed and me thinking, "Tomorrow will have to do....or the next day or the next."

Yes, I need an elf!

And that's okay.

Because even though I am not enough, I know Who is!

II Corinthians 12:9

"But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

In other words, His grace is enough.....

It really is that easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Little Reminder:  The Holiday Give-Away drawing is tomorrow, so be sure to scroll down to the post about the drawing and enter your email address by clicking on the "____ Comments" button before midnight tonight. :)  I will post the winners tomorrow evening.  I wish it could be everyone!  Love you all!

Soooooo, are you saying that we need to trade in our rainbow wigs for pointy ears? Hmmm, I'm just not sure how red and white striped tights would work for me. ;)

I appreciate your blog, as always, Tammy. You "hit the nail on the head" saying that we "don't need to be everything to everyone everyday." It's tempting, but not always realistic. Thanks for sharing His words and your heart!
