Just What I Needed To Hear.....

^{Psalm 138:3}
As soon as I pray, you answer me;
you encourage me by giving me strength.

I love this verse.

Why?

Because so many times when I come to the Lord in prayer, the answers that I so deeply desire are not truly the ones I need or that God can even give.

For example, stress in my life may not be taken away until I have completed certain tasks. Seeing Nick again will not happen until the day I enter Heaven. Seeing a friend or family member come to know Jesus as their personal Savior may still take more time and prayer.

But God does promise this:

AS SOON AS I PRAY, HE WILL ENCOURAGE ME!

Truthfully, that's all I really need most the time.

Just a little encouragement to keep on keeping on!

Thank you, Lord, for this short but sweet and powerful verse that I read yesterday in my quiet time.

You know just what I need when I need it!

Praying that all of you will be encouraged today,

Hi Tammy,

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. As I read your comment, I was reminded of your great saddness--the loss of two children. I can't even imagine. Thank you for using your suffering to bring glory to God--you do, you know.

As I was reading, I felt the Spirit's whisper, "ask her to share her hope."

My Complete Profile
In December of 2007 as our youngest son, Nick, was fighting brain cancer, I began to blog. Writing provided a way for me to release all of my questions, fears, and doubts. It also allowed me to share the ups and downs of Nick's journey with people who were praying for him all over the world. When Nick went Home in November of 2008, I found myself unable to stop writing. My heart was broken and grief brought to the surface every emotion imaginable. Being able to release those emotions through my writing brought a sense of purpose to my pain. Having already walked the road of grief in 1992 when we lost our daughter to SIDS, I knew I needed a way to keep from falling into a pit of depression and despair. I had walked close to the edge of a bottomless pit when we lost our daughter,and I knew I couldn't let myself get that close to the edge again. This blog has been and continues to be my therapy while also being my tiny corner of the world in which I can share My Heart as I journey through God's Word.......thus the name........ My Heart His Words. Thank you for taking the time to share part of your life with me.
