Have you heard people talk about praying that God would "open a door if it's the right one?" Or even that God would "close a door if it's the wrong one?"
Well, as I was sitting on the stage of a school gym last week overseeing lunch detention, I couldn't help but be intrigued by what was right in front of me!
A double-door suspended on a wall. I kept looking at the door thinking, "WHY?"
I guess you could use a ladder to get into the space behind the door, but then my question is still, "WHY?"
Whose idea was it to put the double doors up there? What was the reason? How often do they use them?
My mind just spun with questions....................believe me, lunch detention doesn't provide many other options.
I then thought of the journey ahead of me and wondered if in some ways God could have possibly placed my "next chapter" in a doorway such as this. A doorway that cannot be reached in a normal way or even in an easy way, but a doorway that is going to require some creativity, some climbing, some thinking, some planning.
I'd never really thought about praying that God would "lower a door?" But maybe that's what I need to be praying!
How about you? Do you ever find yourself looking up at the next chapter in your life and thinking, "How will I ever make it up there?" or "Is this option even possible?"
Well, I just want to encourage you with the conclusion that I came up with after some thinking....
Doors don't appear in strange places for no apparent reason, so if you sense a door is in front of you but is in some way unreachable........it might be time to "think outside the normal architectural design" and figure out how to get to that door.......
I just felt this message had to be shared.....maybe if it's just for one reader!!
I love the song....."God will make a way, when there seems to be no way. He works in ways we cannot see, and He will make a way for thee..."

Wow, what a good one you have here if I could just be what God wants me to be and do what he has in store for me then I will be pleased.
Thank you so much,
Brenda
I am that one reader...thank you Tammy!
Love this, Tammy. How odd but you know there has to be a purpose in those doors. Another analytical option...maybe at one time, a person could reach the doors. Maybe at one time the lunchroom was set up another way. Or maybe in the beginning that room was to be two floors.
This same questions can about to your WONDERFUL analogy. I love this. Never thought of lowering the door. Never thought of the door resting outside of our reach, only to be reached through the mighty hands of God.
I have heard the saying when one door closes, God opens a window. Or even vice versa. Not on the same lines as your encouragement hear.
I can't say that I can apply your analogy exactly in my life. But, I can say I LOVE it. My mind is reeling...just wondering, does this apply. Is there a door out of reach. Well, if I look into the obvious area of my life: YES. Reconciliation, the door to it is out of my reach right now and only God can lower the door OR raise beloved and me up to open it. Either way, it is HIS doing to get the door opened and reachable to both of us.
Thanks for this wonderful analogy and encouragement. May God pull it out of my memory bank and just the perfect time in the future to use it again and reflect on it again.
The End...novel over.
Love ya,
PP
Interesting blog thoughts...but I'm still wondering - WHY are those doors up there???
A door like that can only be entered into with the help of God. I've been through doors like that in my life....the only way I could've gone through it is with God! Thanks for the picture!

Hi,
Yep....I agree "WHY????" Then I came up with what would be my husbands sensible conclusion. That room is used for storage and you know how with attics, you just can't get your big boxes in??? Well......This is an opening any man would love!!!
In my heart though, I agree totally with your thinking....I know that doors arent always easy to open and God doesn't always give us the "sensible" way to get through them. So here I sit thinking about how now there is TWO readers who are thankful for this message....xoxo
Also...........Thanks for the mail you sent me. It really touched my heart!!! How did it feel sending it to the wild wild west??? I am so happy we did reconnect especially under spiritual circumstances....I love you too my kindred sister of grief....but we are so much more than that now!!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
