When God Whispers............

The LORD said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by."

Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.

A couple of weeks ago, I went to bed sad even though deep inside I knew she loved me........it just hurt to think she would choose to withhold those words in reply to my, "Good night. I love you."

A daughter's drama can be exhausting.

Ten minutes passed.

I laid praying.

Then I heard it.

Footsteps on the stairs.

The creaking of my bedroom door.

And in the dark, I heard the sweet whispered words, "I love you."

She turned around and slipped back upstairs.

I felt a smile spread across my face-partly because I had heard those words and partly because she had made the choice to say them.

Tonight, I'm listening for a whisper from Someone even greater, and I know He will speak to me somehow................even if it's just through the silence.

(If you want to listen to this song, you'll probably have to let it load for a few minutes..and don't forget to pause the blog music.)

(This song has been one of my favorites for longer than I can remember.)

I have been there Tammy it is awful waiting, wanting and praying for a child to respond. Be assured that God never withholds his whispered "I love you" He even goes on to tell us with an "everlasting love" What a blessing for us.We may not hear him but he never stops saying it.
