I get tired of hearing empty words in the face of tragedy.
Honestly, I often find myself with no words to offer someone who is hurting.
I love that Job's friends, seeing his overwhelming sadness, simply sat with him for seven days without talking.
I love that silence seemed most appropriate at such a painful time.
Today, I have several people on my heart who are going through very, very tough seasons.
The human part of me wants to offer all kinds of words of encouragement but if I'm really honest,
"I have no words."
So, today, as I think of these friends and so many others who are hurting,
I'm going to choose to lift them to Him who has the answers and then just be quiet.
God knows.
He cares.
He is working.
My words are flat, meaningless, and empty compared to the Words of Him who writes their life stories.
His Words are alive and active.
They stir hearts, they empower, they uplift, they give hope, they inspire, and they bring confidence.
His Words are both written in His book and written on our hearts as He writes each of our life stories.
Whether you have accepted the fact that He is the author of your life or not,
He still is.
He always will be.
He is the beginning and the end.
The first and the last.
The Alpha and the Omega.
The Great I Am.
Today, no matter what you're facing,
never forget that His Words will never come up short.
They are not empty.
Let Him fill you today with His promises and His peace.
And let all of us who love you sit silently with you so that you know you are not alone in your heartache, your struggles, and your questions.
As you face today, know this:
YOU ARE LOVED.
HEBREWS 4:12
For the word of God is living and active,
sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing to the division of soul and of spirit,
of joints and of marrow,
and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
I Thess. 2:13
And we also thank God constantly for this,
that when you received the word of God,
which you heard from us,
you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is,
the word of God,
which is at work in you believers.
Acts 20:32
And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace,
which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
John 1:1-3
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.
All things were made through him,
and without him was not any thing made that was made.

yes, Tammy, there are no words but His. I need Him more and more.
Appreciate what you have to say, and I, like you, am finding it best to say 'I have no words, I am praying for you'. Deedy
